"Number Please..."  The telephone exchange located on the second floor of the telephone building at 329 Barry Avenue. Telephone operators kept the community connected. Responsibilities reached from making the right "plug-in" to ringing the fire alarm. Operators were phased out in 1955 when all switched boards went dark and direct dialing took over. In the picture are Theodora Champion Gunlock (seated) and Mildred Douglas Anderson.
