The Wayzata Depot was built by James J. Hill - "the Empire Builder" - in 1906.  Featuring an indoor lavatory, steam heat, electric lighting, and a chilled-water fountain, it was "the handsomest and best-built structure of its kind in the entire Great Northern Railway system."
