1955 Coke Machine

We are very fortunate to be the proud owners of two major artifacts: a Coca-Cola vending machine and a penny lollipop scales. Both are in excellent working order and have been added as interactive exhibits in the Wayzata Depot Museum.

Linda Hansen and her sister Sharon Collins graciously donated both to the Wayzata Historical Society. Both originated from their parents drug store, which was located on the corner of Lake Street and Barry Avenue (now Candlelight Floral & Gifts).

Have a Coke!

When was the last time you put your coins in the slot, turned the crank, opened the door and pulled out an eight ounce, glass bottle of Coca-Cola? (No twist-off caps. You will need to use the bottle opener!) You can enjoy an ice-cold bottle of Coke any Wednesday or weekend afternoon at the Depot.

The Vendo Model 81A “Coke machine” was manufactured in June of 1955. It is rated number three of the ten most sought after soda vending machines by collectors.
