Minnetonka Hospital - 1934-1964. Dr. Carl Martinson, a graduate of the U of M with medical training in California , joined with his colleague, Dr. Edward E. Mitchell of Mound to establish a hospital on 1928. Dr. Martinson's medical practice was in its' second year on Lake Street next to the drug store (now Candlelight Floral).  In 1934 Dr. Martinson moved the hospital into the home on Lake Street originally built by Dr. Tibbetts. The hospital closed in 1964 and was not reopened elsewhere due to an abundance of beds in the Minneapolis area. The hospital was located where Minnetonka Travel is now.
